Washington Declares War on Parents
School districts are usurping parental rights. Here's what you can do about it.
On May 20th, Washington Governor Bob Ferguson signed HB 1296 into law, immediately revoking key parental rights in government schools. While the bill claims to protect “student rights,” a closer examination reveals its true purpose: canceling parental rights. Under HB 1296:
Schools are no longer required to notify parents when their children are offered medical services.
Parents have no right to access their own children’s medical and mental health counseling records.
Parents have no right to opt their children out of sexualized content, such as gender ideology.
School employees who indoctrinate students with radical gender ideology, critical race theory, or other politicized content are immune from disciplinary action.
